The Kimberly K. Gallow Foundation will soon launch of the 3rd cohort for the Let Her Rise Program.
The Let Her Rise Program is a spiritually-led mentoring program dedicated to young women who are graduating seniors in high school and plan to attend a two or four year college or university in Louisiana.
Participants will engage in an seven-week virtual program that will focus on college readiness, how to achieve and maintain academic success, and maintaining a social and spiritual life while in school.
The program launched in 2020 with six women from Southern University, Xavier University (LA), and UL-Monroe with a scholarship award given to Maya Jones of Southern University. In 2022, four women were selected from Southern University, UL-Lafayette, and LSU with a scholarship award given to Kayla Harris of Southern University. To view previous cohort members, click here.
Applications for the summer 2023 cohort are now available. The program allows for high school graduates in Louisiana to apply along with mentors who have graduated college more than five years ago from 2023. Applications for mentees and mentors are open until June 10. The program will begin June 18. To apply, please click here.
"We are excited to support another group of young women who are transitioning from high school to college. College is a students' most instrumental time to learn about self and we hope to further inform, influence, and inspire these young girls to utilize their resources on campus, mentors provided in the program, and the support surrounding our organization."
The KKG Foundation is currently fundraising to assist with program costs. We offer three giving levels to support the Let Her Rise Program.
The Loyalty League - $500
The Influential Leader - $250
Ambassador - $100
